Oy vey! My first book, “Holocaust is a Myth” available now. Thank you so much to everyone who made the book a success–I am so proud that this is my first published work.
Hello! I’m Sarah and I’m a 24 year old cartoonist and illustrator. I graduated from the Maryland Institute College of Art in 2014 and currently live in Brooklyn. My comics are semi-autobiographical and follow the adventures of myself, my friends, and my beloved pets.
Due to a need to distinguish between my illustration and cartooning work, I post illustrative work separately. You can find that work here.
If you want to contact me, please check out the FAQ first!
1) Can I post your comic on my blog/site/facebook/wherever?
If you’re not using the comic for commercial purposes, you don’t have to ask my permission to post one of my comics. Just please don’t edit the comic in any way. You can also use the comics in educational presentations without asking. Thanks!
2) How do you make your comics?
I use Cintiq 13HD and Photoshop.
3) Someone is stealing your work! What should I do?
First of all, thanks for being an awesome person and keeping an eye out for me! Unfortunately, I get so many emails about comic theft that I don’t have time to individually deal with every person that does it. Your best course of action is to report it. But if it’s happening on a large scale and you think I should know, you’re welcome to contact me and I’ll see what I can do.
(It’s fine for people to post my comics because they wanted to share it. I consider stealing to be editing the comic, cropping out my signature, translating without my permission, pretending to be me, selling Sarah’s Scribbles products, or using the comic to sell a product.)
4) Will you draw XYZ for me?
I’m booked for all forms of freelance work for the next couple of months. When my schedule clears I’ll be allowing personal portraits again through Patreon.
5) We want to advertise our products/pay you to promote our stuff!
I don’t do that right now, sorry.
6) Can we be friends?
7) Can I get a tattoo of your work?
Yup! You don’t need to ask permission. I’m always excited to see photos, so if you get one send it my way!
8) Is there any way I can get a signed copy of your book?
I really, really wish I could make this easier than it currently is. Because of where I live, receiving and sending mail is a time consuming nightmare that constantly backfires. So for the time being, I can’t personally sign and send you a copy. I do, however, do public signings and will announce all of them on social media! A US tour is currently in the works.
9) Advice to comic artists starting out?
I go into it in depth in this interview, including talking about finances and finding your style. Good luck!
10) Can I translate your work?
At the moment, no. I used to allow it in the past, but because my work is now published, there are people hard at work translating the books. Which is a good thing! Yay!
Hey guys! I’m taking my email off my site because I’m booked for freelance work for the next couple of months. If you have freelance project I absolutely MUST see, contact Andrews McMeel Publishing.
